I’m 30, but even I find myself wishing I could turn back the clock. Time goes by too fast, and only as I’ve gotten older and experienced those 365 days flash by, have I come to really live every single day to its fullest. That said, I do find myself thinking of days in the past, when life seemed simpler (aka, no adult worries in sight) and my skin was, well, a bit more youthful-looking.
So, imagine my excitement when I learned that one of my all-time favorite beauty brands, Ilia, was releasing a Skin Rewind complexion stick — in other words, an easy-to-use concealer with, could it be, youth-inducing powers? Okay, that might be extreme, but the “rewind” piqued my interest. Could it really turn back the clock? According to some shoppers, it can, in fact, make skin look “so much younger,” and Mandy Moore is already “very into it,” according to an Instagram she posted late last month.
The Skin Rewind Complexion Stick is the latest addition to Ilia’s makeup-meets-skincare goodies that have become a staple in countless celeb and beauty editors’ shelves. And given how popular its other products are, I see big things in store for this one, too. In fact, even prior to launching earlier last month, the complexion stick amassed a 30,000-person waitlist. While it’s currently available for $48, with Moore’s stamp of approval, it’s practically a given it will sell out — with an ever-growing waitlist sure to follow.

The concealer-skincare hybrid delivers a natural-looking, weightless coverage the brand says will seamlessly stay put for up to 12 hours. Reviewers who’ve put it to the test IRL can attest to this, with one shopper noting they, “wore it close to eight hours without issues or smudges.” The same can’t be said about all concealers, which tend to crease and get stuck in fine lines and wrinkles.
The complexion stick obviously covers any blemishes, dark circles, and, according to shoppers, “blurs pores” for a filter-like smoothness that makes skin look “flawless,” per reviewers. But it does more than that, too — and that’s where the “skincare” properties come in. Its formula is packed with a ceramide-peptide complex that firms and strengthens the skin barrier, winged kelp extract for a more youthful-looking glow, and butterfly lavender extract that smooths the look of fine lines and wrinkles.
Combined, the stick’s makeup and skin powers have left shoppers “speechless,” because, well, it’s successful at “making skin appear younger,” with many dubbing it a “miracle stick.” No wonder Moore and thousands of shoppers are so into it — and I’m sure I will be, as well.
