Buy it before it sells out.
I discovered my favorite body lotion from Oprah—the ultimate arbiter of taste—via her annual Favorite Things list last year. (Perhaps, inevitably, the cream flew off the shelves numerous times, making the purchase process an exercise in patience—albeit, one that was well worth it). The media mogul’s roster of 2024 favorites is officially live—and, to my delight, it contains yet another body butter.
Like the aforementioned lotion from Fount Society—an exceptional skin care brand I’ve come to adore—Oprah’s current body cream du jour hails from a brand that has somehow flown under my radar: McEvoy Ranch. Created on a family farm in California, its Whipped Body Butter is a “rich and luxurious moisturizer,” according to Oprah. Shoppers echo similar sentiments; saying it’s “to die for,” as one reviewer attested via the brand’s site. Conveniently, the body cream is also available at Amazon.

The McEvoy Ranch Whipped Body Butter is deeply hydrating, yet a curiously lightweight body butter. Packed with anti-aging ingredients and skin-smoothing plant extracts, it’s equal parts efficacious and indulgent.
As for ingredients: Hyaluronic acid—skin care’s preeminent hydrating ingredient—is at the helm. A humectant, the moisture-magnetizing molecule imparts an immediate dewy glow. Moreover, hyaluronic acid reduces the appearance of fine lines and crepey skin thanks to its immediate plumping properties.
Fatty acid-rich olive oil doubles down on skin-softening splendor, and retains hydration for all-day smoothness. Furthermore, the ingredient (which, incidentally, is among Jennifer Lopez’s staples), boasts protective, age-delaying properties thanks to its richness in vitamin E, an antioxidant. Cocoa butter, yet another nutrient-packed natural, leaves skin visibly radiant.
Finally, the formula features rosehip oil. Packed with wrinkle-smoothing vitamin A, the ingredient addresses signs of aging. As dermatologist Dr. Michele Greene M.D. previously told InStyle, rosehip “penetrate[s] the deep layers of the skin to stimulate collagen and reduce fine lines and wrinkles.” Furthermore, it’s rich in protective antioxidants.
Ingredients aside, Oprah’s favorite body butter is notable from a sensorial standpoint, too. The whipped texture absorbs in moments, sans greasiness, per shoppers. Available in three scent options, the “verde” fragrance is summer incarnate, wafting notes of “freshly cut grass, herbaceous basil, green olive, and ripe tomato leaf,” per the brand. It also comes in a soothing lavender, as well as a zesty citrus scent.
One reviewer, via the McEvoy Ranch website, dubs the body butter “luxurious” and “creamy,” adding that it’s devoid of a “greasy feel.” Another fan, who has finished “at least 20 jars” said the cream mitigates their dryness-induced “sleep-disturbing discomfort.” Moreover, they mention it feels like “a luxury” in their nightly routine. A final fan illustrates the formula’s suppleness-inducing power: “I ran into an old friend while wearing this [lotion]”, they said, “and she grabbed my arm…and demanded to know how my skin could possibly be so soft.”
Join me in snapping up Oprah’s favorite body butter before word gets out—and quickly. (Lest we forget: Her last body cream recommendation sold out at neck-breaking speed.) If, by the time you’re reading this, it’s too late: bide your time with similar formulas, below.
