I’ve waited weeks for it to return.
Glowy, dewy, natural-looking skin is trending. Case in point: The no-makeup makeup approach has been preferred for quite some time now, especially in the summertime when the thought of wearing anything on your skin becomes a nightmare. The “very mindful, very demure” craze only further proves that bare-looking makeup is showing zero signs of fading (it’s a good thing!). And the fact that Meghan Markle sold out a foundation from the brand that’s literally called No Makeup Makeup is the most pressing piece of evidence yet.
Markle’s always taken a very simple approach with her makeup; she’s been my inspiration for subtle beauty looks for years. But she offered up the most stunning makeup look I’ve seen in a while while attending the ESPY Awards 2024 back in July. Markle stepped out for the event in Los Angeles—which I’d bet was a hot summer day—in a beautiful white halter-neck gown that very much resembled the dress she wore on her wedding day. Her hair was pulled into a slicked-back bun, ensuring her gorgeous complexion, achieved thanks to this No Makeup Makeup foundation, was front and center. The skin-perfecting product has been sold out since shoppers discovered it was used on her, but Markle’s foundation is finally back in stock—though it’s already selling out again.

Markle’s go-to makeup artist, Daniel Martin, was behind this stunning beauty moment, reaching for the just-restocked foundation to get her signature glowy, dewy, no-makeup-makeup look. The 4-in-1 formula is packed with jojoba oil and vitamin E to moisturize and nurture the skin, but that’s not all. It does it all: concealings, correctings, camouflaging, and diffusing the skin, all while remaining totally undetectable thanks to a weightless, buildable cream-balm texture. Application is basically mistake-proof, a winning point for someone like me, who sometimes doesn’t have the time to ensure my foundation is evenly applied.
Not to mention, I’m rarely able to touch up my concealer during the day because, well, the tube is just too bulky to carry. But not this one: The small but mighty compact is travel and work-friendly, meaning you can slip it into your bag and reapply if need be (which you probably won’t, given its top-notch formula with serious staying power). But, having the option is always nice.
Some other winning points? It’s derm-approved and suitable for sensitive skin since it’s free of fragrance and allergens and made of 100 percent vegan ingredients that are ethically sourced and cruelty-free. Those are some big, juicy cherries on top of an already great foundation. No wonder it sold out and is on track to do so again. Shop it for $55 in 10 shades, here.
