To set you on the right path, we chatted with a few pros to uncover the must-try 2025 beauty trends. Keep reading to uncover a few ways to switch up your look in the coming weeks and months.
Berry Everything
Instead of your classic bold red lip, celebrity makeup artist Melanie Inglessis says to expect a rise in berry pouts—and plum makeup as a whole. In 2025, Inglessis says we can look forward to burgundy eyeliner, berry lipstick, and an overall richer, deeper vibe across the lids, lips, and cheeks.
Mocha Brown Manes
While Mocha Mousse is the Pantone Color of the Year, rich, dark brown mocha manes are where it’s at on the hair scene. “Mocha is the standout color for 2025—with its rich and super complementary undertones, it suits almost everyone,” says R+COLOR Collective member Renée Valerie, who is the Director of R+COLOR Education. “It’s undoubtedly the year of the brunette. Ask for a luxurious, warm brunette with hints of chocolate tones.”
Almond-Shaped Nails
Many different nail shapes exist. In 2025, however, the almond silhouette will reign supreme. “Almond and oval shapes are classic and elegant—they elongate fingers and make hands look refined and elegant, working well with most nail lengths,” says nailsaloon Senior Nail Artist and Educator Marnae Orton. “Because they don’t catch corners as much as other shapes do, they are great for those who are hard on their hands.”
Satin Skin
As much as we’ve collectively loved the ultra-dewy glazed donut skin trend, in 2025, we can expect complexions to look a bit more natural. “Skin will remain a trend but we will see more of a satin, soft-focus airbrush effect rather than donut-glazed,” Inglessis says, noting that Ana De Armas regularly rocks the more understated skin trend.
Long, Deconstructed Strands
There’s always going to be a time and a place for beautifully-coiffed hairstyles. In 2025, though, long, deconstructed strands are stealing the everyday show. According to celebrity hairstylist Corey Powell, this year, it’s all about long, fluid layers that enhance texture and movement without looking notably choppy.
“The layers are from the inside out, which creates intentional triangles that create unconstructed movement, giving the flexibility to work with natural textures or a glam Hollywood blowout,” he explains. “You will see more untamed curls, which is sexy. Think: Blake Lively and Sarah Jessica Parker in the new season of And Just Like That.
Velvet Cat Eye Manicures
You may have noticed that luxurious velvet manicures and ultra-glossy glass manicures have been dominating our social feeds. The trick to creating such looks? Magnetic cat-eye nail polish. “Cat eye nails will still be dominating in 2025,” Orton assures us. “But this year, we’ll be seeing cat-eye in lighter colors, with a stronger glass-like effect.”
‘90s Nostalgia
It seems we’re never not dreaming of the ‘90s and early ‘00s, and 2025 is no different. This year, ‘90s-inspired lip looks will be all the rage, Inglessis says. “Think MAC Spice Liner blended into the lip with a lighter matte lipstick,” she says, noting that Lily Rose Depp has been rocking the look during her Nosferatu press tour.
Bobs and Lobs Galore
All of the stylists we spoke with agree: Bobs and lobs will be a popular choice in 2025. R+Co vice president of technical education, Adam Federico, says that the supermodel bob—shown on Zendaya, above—is an especially posh choice for the year. “Inspired by Cindy Crawford’s iconic ‘90s look, this voluminous, textured bob is all about glossy shine and runway-ready bounce,” he says.
Meanwhile, IGK Hair Care co-founder Leo Izquierdo says the Italian bob is worth considering. “This sleek, jaw-length, and effortlessly sophisticated cut aligns with the ongoing love for minimalism,” he explains, noting that Lily James has adopted the chic length. “Ask for a blunt bob with soft internal layering for movement.”
Looking for something a little longer? Powell says to lean into the modern ‘90s lob trend. “The ‘90s lob has evolved into a clean, silky cut in 2025, with unseen underlayers from the inside out, creating movement and swing,” he reveals, noting that Hailey Bieber and Sophie Turner have worn the cut. “This style frames any face beautifully.”
Mocha Mousse Manis
Looking for a simple way to dip into the mocha mousse trend? Make use of your mani. Whether you opt for a creme, satin, matte, or metallic finish, the soft, warm brown hue makes for a beautiful manicure. Of course, you can deepen your palette, too. “Dark browns are edgy and versatile, making manicures pop,” Orton says. That said, if you want to go even lighter on your nails, Orton reveals that minimalist camel manicures—from beige to taupe to soft gray tones—will take over the neutral end of the spectrum.
Shimmery Lids
Demi Moore turned heads for more than one reason at the Golden Globes. In addition to taking home her first Golden Globe Award, the 62-year-old actress garnered attention for her gorgeous glittery lid look, which Inglessis says sets the stage for eye makeup in 2025. “Let’s have fun and bring back shimmery eyeshadows,” she exclaims.
Reimagined Reds
Red hair will always be trending—the top shades simply change from year to year. In 2025, the darker, the better. With that in mind, Powell says that “rich, warm, sexy reds with bold hues” are forecasted to top the charts this year. “In 2025, hair color is all about being daring, with dark shades that have rich, bold undertones,” he explains. “One standout trend is deep pomegranate-red hues, ideal for anyone wanting to make a statement. Celebrities like Dua Lipa, Zendaya, and Billie Eilish have embraced this vibrant color.”
Chrome Accents
You can never go wrong with a high-shine accent on your nails—holidays or not. “We’ll never get enough of adding a touch of metallic to our manicures,” Orton says. “Whether it’s a minimalist hint or detail, or full on 3D, chrome seems to have a permanent spot at the manicure table.”
Freckles, Freckles, Freckles
Ever since Taylor Swift showed up to her boyfriend’s football game with glittery freckles, folks everywhere have been swarming to Fazit (the brand behind the head-turning faux freckle face makeup) to recreate the look. “Freckles, freckles, freckles—tattooed or drawn on, the more the merrier,” Inglessis exclaims. “Even glittery ones are all the rage!”
Born-With-It Texture
Gone are the days of super straight strands and perfectly manipulated curls. This year, enhanced natural, authentic texture is inspiring a wave of big, bold everyday hair looks. “Lauryn Hill’s natural curls in the ‘90s serve as the ultimate inspiration for embracing authentic texture,” Federico says. “This look celebrates and enhances your hair’s natural pattern. Ask your stylist to enhance your natural curls, while focusing on expanding their shape.”
3D Embellishments
Hair texture isn’t the only thing that’s going max in 2025—manicures are, too. “Nail art with 3D elements and textured nail finishes will be on the rise for 2025,” says Nailing Hollywood manicurist Tara Haye. “Last year, 3D fruit nail designs like cherries, sea shells, and abstract nail art were a huge hit. In 2025, these same trends will be back like never before. More individuals are loving the concept of more is more instead of less is more.”
