Consider this a sign to finally try it yourself.
Confession: I received a Dyson Airwrap last year—yet only unboxed it a few months ago. For context, I’m inept with even the simplest of hot tools; Dyson’s hi-tech multi-styler intimidated me. Nevertheless, the hype around the device—from beauty industry peers, celebrity stylists, and seemingly every well-coiffed friend—became impossible to ignore. Moreover, with its promise of salon-level blowouts, I’d hoped the Airwrap could reduce the frequency with which I’d been booking professional appointments.
With a sprinkle of patience, a dash of persistence, and a few YouTube tutorials detailing how to use the Dyson Airwrap, I’ve evolved into someone whose hair is—dare I say—enviable. Strangers have complimented my mane, and bad hair days have whittled significantly. Not to mention, I’ve completely ghosted my former blowout-bar.
Dyson’s multi-styler—typically a cool $600—is $100 off at Amazon right now for Black Friday. Though still a considerable cost, $500 is chump change compared to what I’ve spent, in total, on salon blowouts. Furthermore, the Airwrap, in all its multi-functional glory, has single-handedly replaced many of my hot tools—which, in and of themselves, cost a few hundred dollars. Had I realized Dyson’s multi-styler would become my hair dryer, curling iron, and more, I’d have saved money on tools that now prove superfluous.

The Dyson Airwrap is a six-in-one hot tool that simultaneously dries and styles hair to salon-worthy perfection. Its sleek, intuitive base emits hot air, and attaches to any of the six interchangeable heads, each of which serves a distinct purpose.
For instance, the round brush attachment creates ‘90s supermodel bounce and volume—the likes of which I’d previously only experienced after salon appointments. Similarly, the Airwrap comes with barrel attachments. They may look like your average curling iron-heads, but they prove easier—and more fun—to use. Hot air from the base emits in a curved fashion through openings in the barrels. In turn, the hair wraps, as if by magic, around the attachments to form a curl. The smaller of the two barrels creates voluminous, bouncy waves, while the larger imparts a looser, beachy curl.
The Airwrap also creates straight styles, via two comb attachments. Visually similar to the head of a hairbrush and equally intuitive to use, the attachments dry, smooth, and add shine to strands. (Raking through my long, tangle-prone hair is significantly less chore-like, too.)
Finally, the smoothing attachment—my favorite of the lot—tames errant baby hairs, style-running stragglers, and frustrating frizz, and adds a professional polish to any ‘do.
