On Wednesday, Johnson made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live to promote her new film, Daddio, and in the middle of her interview, the gold metal strap of her slinky black dress unexpectedly came undone. Noticing his guest was distracted by what just happened, Kimmel asked the actress, "Dakota, your dress just came unhooked. Are you alright? Should I get some Scotch tape?"
"My dress it just fell off!" Johnson responded as she laughed and tried to adjust the unique hardware. Eventually, she gave up and declared to the audience, "Well, I'll just hold it."
Making light of the situation, Kimmel reminded Johnson to "just hold the important part, there you go," as the Madame Web star put both hands on her chest.

Luckily, Johnson had a change of clothes and ditched the LBD completely while exiting the studio. Dressed decidedly more casual, she wore a white T-shirt layered underneath a black cardigan and completed her outfit with baggy, light-wash jeans, white pointed-toe heels, and a green leather handbag slung over her shoulder. Chunky gold hoops, cat-eye sunglasses, and her brunette hair pulled back into an elegant updo with her signature fringe provided the finishing touches to her relaxed look.
