They’re just like the pair you probably owned in high school.
This fall is gearing up to be a little less one-note than previous seasons when it comes to sneakers, and I’m all for it. As much as I love Adidas’s Sambas, it’s nice to see some new faces. In the past few months alone, I’ve seen retro-inspired basketball shoes, dad sneakers, and even old-school Vans trending—and thanks to Natalie Portman, I’m ready to add another to the list.
The actress has been spotted wearing black Dior canvas sneakers with a subtle platform over and over again. At the Paris Olympics, she paired them with a Cher Horowitz-esque yellow skirt set, and in New York City, she kept it classically cool with baggy jeans and a white tee. Each time she’s worn them, I look at her shoes and think, “I know you,” and it’s because her $950 sneakers look almost identical to the low-top Converse I wore in high school.

From the black canvas to the contrasting white details and sole, her designer shoes are almost an exact replica of that throwback sneaker you’ve probably owned. Below, shop six lookalikes of her platform shoe, including another pick from Converse, on-sale Keds, and more.

Like I said, Portman’s Dior sneakers are a dead-ringer for Converse’s classic Chuck Taylors, but they’re actually even closer in resemblance to this platform style from the brand. At just over an inch, the elevation is super subtle, but fans say that it still elongates their legs and dresses up leggings and jeans more than a flat pair.
Keds Triple Up Sneaker
Orig. $80 $49 at Amazon
Keds is a classic when it comes to no-fuss sneakers, so its Triple Up style—available in eight colors—is a no-brainer while it’s on sale at Amazon for $49. While Keds are most popular for its canvas shoes, these have a leather design that gives the affordable sneakers an expensive look. Plus, the platform features extra cushioning, with shoppers writing that the shoes aren’t just comfortable, but that they offer “lots of support.”
Jabasic Platform Sneaker
$45 at Amazon
Jabasic’s $45-platform sneakers are the most affordable way to get Portman’s look. These are designed to look like leather and have that same black base, white details, and platform as the star’s shoes. And, according to shoppers, they’re shockingly comfortable: One person who’s on their feet “all day for work” swears that these sneakers are their secret to pain-free feet. They’re so supportive and stylish, the shopper owns three pairs.
Portman’s throwback sneakers are the versatile style you’ll want to reach for this fall. Shop more platform sneakers inspired by her designer pair, below.
