Salt & Mandarin: The New Eau de Toilette “Mystic Moss” by Dries Van Noten

by белый

The Belgian fashion label Dries Van Noten is expanding its “Eaux de Toilette” collection with “Mystic Moss”, an earthy, aromatic unisex fragrance.

The refreshing sharpness of green mandarin cuts through the earthiness of oakmoss, with hints of saltiness. Different elements in their purest form – rock, liquid – find harmony together.

The composition, created by Nicolas Bonneville, opens with a top note of green mandarin, cardamom and clary sage, which provides a fresh and spicy opening. In the center, a floral, slightly salty blend of seaweed and rose geranium unfolds, rounded off by earthy and smoky base notes of oakmoss, patchouli, vetiver and incense.

“Mystic Moss” joins “Orange Smoke” and “Sur Ma Peau” as the third unisex fragrance creation in Dries Van Noten’s “Eaux de Toilette” collection.

For this collection, I wanted to offer a new vision of cannabis patchouli. I have translated the earthy effect of patchouli into a salty minerality.

in 1976, Van Noten enrolled at the famous Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, which he left four years later with a degree in his pocket. He took his first steps in the fashion industry as a freelance designer until he presented his first men’s collection in London in 1986 with five other Belgian fashion enthusiasts, who became known as the “Antwerp Six”. The first women’s collection followed just one year later.

The fashion label Dries Van Noten now not only offers clothing, but also make-up, accessories and fragrances.

Although the company was sold to the Spanish Puig Group in 2018, Noten is still the head designer and retains creative control over his collections.

The new fragrance is available in a bottle size of 200 ml.
