The couple tied the knot in her home state of Rhode Island.
Congratulations to the newlyweds! Olivia Culpo and Christian McCaffrey are married.
On Saturday, the model and San Francisco 49ers running back tied the knot in a chapel in Watch Hill (a coastal neighborhood in the town of Westerly, Rhode Island), and for the occasion, Culpo, a native Rhodian, wore a surprisingly simple gown. With no beading or embellishment in sight, the long-sleeved crepe ball gown from Dolce & Gabbana, instead, featured a high crew neck, a voluminous skirt, and a button-lined back. She accessorized the pared-down dress with a 16-foot lace veil and a minimal beauty look that included nude lips and dewy skin.
“I didn’t want it to exude sex in any way, shape, or form,” she said of her dress while speaking with Vogue. “I wanted it to feel effortless and as if it’s complimenting me, not overpowering me. There’s so much beauty and simplicity.”
She added, "When I think about Christian and what he loves and the moments that he thinks that I’m most beautiful, it’s absolutely in something like this: timeless, covered, and elegant."
A Timeline of Olivia Culpo and 49ers Star Christian McCaffrey's Relationship
Culpo and McCaffrey first sparked dating rumors in May 2019, before the former Miss Universe not-so-subtly confirmed their courtship when she wore his jersey to an NFL game in the fall. Nearly four years later, they got engaged with the football star popping the question while they were on vacation at Amangiri in Utah.
A few weeks later, Culpo opened up about the surprise proposal during an Amazon Live, telling fans she had no idea it was coming. “Christian deserves an Oscar for his performance. He was leading me astray the entire time,” she said. “I kept asking him if he was ready to get engaged or if he had any timeline in mind because I was starting to get kind of annoyed … he never let out a peep.”
