Feel that breeze? Trench coat season is here. And Lily Gladstone was quick to usher in the season’s staple outerwear in style during Paris Fashion Week.
The Oscar-nominated actress was spotted during Paris Fashion Week with a look that gave the traditional trench coat a new twist. To attend the Gabriela Hearst show on September 30, Gladstone wore a cream knit midi dress with an oversized, flowy trench coat by the Uruguayan designer. The trench coat featured billowy, puffed sleeves that gave the otherwise structured and military-looking staple an ultra-feminine silhouette.
Sure, trench coats have long been a staple of fall fashion. But the fall/winter 2024 runways gave it a new life. Chloé’s Chemena Kamali displayed patent leather versions that featured superhero-like capelets, while Bottega Veneta’s Matthieu Blazy opted for trench coats with billowy sleeves. Hearst, as exhibited by Gladstone’s look, also pushed the trench coat agenda by way of a black leather version that looked straight out of The Matrix.
