Diamonds are a girl's best friend.
Kate Hudson’s never one to embrace subtlety, so it’s not surprising that her take on the LBD includes a deep, navel-grazing plunge and the addition of a little bling. Last night, at the star-studded launch of the new fine jewelry brand, Ophelia Eve, in New York City, Hudson wore a long-sleeved gown with a super-deep V accented with crystal-embellished hardware.
According to WWD, other guests included Jessica Biel, Maria Menounos, author Katie Lee, and fashion designer Stacey Bendet. Hudson added an Ophelia Eve blue tourmaline Mega Eye necklace to her look and it sat perfectly in the plunging neckline of her dress. The anything-but-basic dress included structured shoulders and a slit in the asymmetric hem. She finished the look with a coordinating clutch and even matched her mani to the all-black look. Her signature blonde hair was pulled back and she kept her makeup minimal and sleek, with a pinky-tan lip color and rosy cheeks.
The look is just the latest showstopper from the How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days star. Recently, she wore a fuzzy, textured Fendi couture dress to the American Music Awards 50th Anniversary Special, which some onlookers compared to a bath mat (they said it, not us). The high-neck creation was part of the storied Italian brand’s 2023 couture collection and she finished the look with a David Yurman cuff and open-toed heels.
It wasn’t her only musical appearance over the weekend. Harper’s Bazaar reports that Hudson performed in Los Olivos, California, at the Auberge Resorts’ concert series presented by Mercedes-Benz. During her set, she sang “Love Ain’t Easy” and “Lying to Myself,” from her new album, Glorious, while wearing a vintage terra cotta-colored gown from Donna Karan.
