How to measure your bra size

by белый

Wearing the wrong-sized bra is the worst.

We’ve all been there – bra strap keeps falling, cups barely fit, or the band feels too tight. It’s terrible for your mood but also no good for your boobs!

Long story short, if you wear a bra, make sure it does its job. A good bra needs to fit, support you and feel comfortable. Plus, a great bra gives you the added bonus of feeling super confident and sexy too.

How to measure your bra size in 3 simple steps

We know it’s not always ideal to go out of your way to get a bra fitting, so here’s how you can do it at home.

How to measure your bra size

Measure your band size

You should do this without a bra. To measure your band size, grab a measuring tape and measure yourself all the way around. From your back to under your bust – where the bra band usually sits. Make sure you’ve got the measuring tape firmly around you – not tight, just firm!

Once you’ve got the number in inches write it down, band sizes are usually even numbers, so if you measure an odd number, round it up to the nearest even number.

At Lounge, we’re all about comfort so we suggest that you add 2-3 inches to your band size, to ensure you feel comfortable throughout your day. So, if you measure a 29, we recommend you go for 32 band size. If you measure 34, we recommend you go for a 36 band size. However, this is up to you and your personal preference.

Measure your cup size

Now for your cup size. Measure the fullest part of your bust. You don’t have to pull the tape around too tight here, just make sure it’s flat. Once you’ve got the number write it down so you don’t forget.

Do the maths!

Finally, use this very simple equation: cup size – band size.

If your cup size is 38 inches and your band size is 34, the difference is 4 inches which means you have a D cup – making your bra size a 34D.

  • One-inch difference = A
  • Two-inch difference = B
  • Three-inch difference = C, and so on …

Yes, it’s that easy – get measuring and give your boobs the comfort they deserve!
