Brooke Shields’s youngest daughter Grier Henchy has been busy following in her mom’s sartorial footsteps. After wearing her mom’s red 1998 Golden Globes gown for prom in 2022, the model repurposed Shields’s 1997 wedding dress for her high school graduation this summer. In a belated summer photo dump posted on Friday, Shields shared another coordinated dressing moment with her lookalike daughter as they posed in cutout black dresses.
In an Instagram carousel that the former child star captioned, “recent happy” with a black heart emoji, she could be seen posing with her 18-year-old daughter as well as her eldest daughter Rowan, 21, in front of a baseball field. Wrapping her arms around the teen, Shields looked strikingly similar to her youngest child as she wore a black bodycon dress with skinny straps and a scoop neckline, as well as a triangular rib cutout detail in the front. Her smokey eyes and nude lip complemented Grier’s similar beauty look.
Meanwhile, the Wake Forest University freshman appeared to take style cues from her mom as she wore a similar black gown with daring side cutouts and a plunging neckline. Her elder sister Rowan, who stood on her left side, added a pop of color to the sweet family photo with red lipstick and a crimson gown.
In September, Grier proved that she’s her mom’s mini-me as she made her New York Fashion Week debut. As the teen modeled a black floor-length dress with cargo pockets at the Tommy Hilfiger show, her “proud” mom cheered her on from the audience. While the 18-year-old is growing up to be just like her mom, the Mother of the Bride star admitted that seeing her daughter get older has been a bittersweet journey.
In August, the actress revealed that she and husband Chris Henchy are empty nesters in an emotional video shared on Instagram. Visibly tearful, Shields revealed that dropping Grier off at college was “really hard,” but she was happy that her youngest was joining her older sister at the same school.
“They’re together at least,” she said in the vulnerable video. “It’s not easy. It’s not easy for the moms. I mean it’s just so weird. It’s so weird that (Grier’s) not here.”
