With the new unisex fragrance “Uruk Chronicles”, Etat Libre d’Orange pays tribute to the city of Uruk – one of the oldest civilizations in the world and home to the mythical King Gilgamesh.
An intoxicating fragrance that lingers as night envelops the day.
Uruk Chronicles invites you to experience Gilgamesh’s journey – from the legendary cedar forest to the bottom of the ocean to pluck the flower of immortality – with every spray. This epic is told through the warmth of cypress, roasted tonka and saffron, representing the yellow flower of immortality.Etat Libre d’Orange
The opening of “Uruk Chronicles” unfolds with fruity, tangy notes of strawberry and tangerine, paired with the floral lightness of abelia. Gradually, the fruity top note develops into a powdery heart note of iris, which combines with the floral freshness of Pomarose® and the spicy depth of saffron. A warm base of cedarwood and cypriol, refined with the vanilla sweetness of tonka bean, ensures a sensual finish.

The inspiration: Uruk and the Epic of Gilgamesh
The inspiration for “Uruk Chronicles” was the ancient city of Uruk, which is located in what is now southern Iraq. Uruk is considered one of the first cities in the world and played a central role in Sumerian civilization, both culturally, economically and religiously. It experienced its heyday in the 4th millennium BC, an era known today as the Uruk period.
The creation also pays tribute to Uruk’s most famous ruler: Gilgamesh, who, according to Sumerian tradition, ruled as king of the city – one third human and two thirds divine. As the main character in the “Epic of Gilgamesh”, one of the oldest literary works of mankind, he symbolizes the human longing for glory, power and immortality.
The new fragrance is available in a bottle size of 100 ml.
