He's fast becoming a red carpet regular.
Eva Longoria usually brings her style A-game to the red carpet, whether she’s wearing a cutout dress, sheer gown, or a sequin number. For her most recent appearance, the actress brought along a surprising plus-one: On Monday, Longoria turned the Los Angeles premiere of Moana 2 into a mother-son date with her 6-year-old son, Santiago, a.k.a. “Santi.”
The duo arrived in coordinating casual-cute looks. Longoria wore an oversized black blazer layered over a matching tee and styled it with wide-leg jeans and pointed-toe boots. She accessorized with a pendant necklace and styled her long brown hair in a middle part and gentle waves. Santi looked stylish in a white short-sleeve button-up, mock denim cargo shorts, and velcro Adidas sneakers.
The two held hands while smiling for the flashing cameras, and at one point, posed with a real-life Moana character. The animated Disney movie, which is a follow up to the original 2016 film, hits theaters on November 27.
Santi, who Longoria shares with husband José Antonio “Pepe” Bastón, is becoming somewhat of a red carpet veteran. Just last month, the youngin made another appearance with his mom at the Global Gift Gala in Paris, France. For the event, Santi looked dapper in a black suit and button-up dress shirt. Longoria wore a sheer strapless gown with a sequin paisley design. Longoria shared an Instagram roundup of stunning snaps taken ahead of the event, including one adorable photo that captured her and Santi sharing chocolate.
While Longoria’s son seems to enjoy his moments in the spotlight, the director’s husband isn’t as fond of red carpet events. In a recent interview with The Daily Mail, Longoria shared why she doesn’t post Bastón often on social media. “He loves for me to be on the red carpet. It’s one place he hates and he hates it,” she said of the producer. “He hates Instagram. He’s like, ‘Please don’t put me on your Instagram.’ That’s why he’s never on my social media. Once [sic] a while I try to slip him in there.”
She continued, "It's actually refreshing to be with somebody who doesn't need that constant validation of like, 'Remind people we're together. Remind people, I need to be on a red carpet.' He’s just a really kind partner."
Longoria, who splits her time between Mexico and Spain, also recently revealed why her family decided to move out of the U.S. “I had my whole adult life here,” she told Marie Claire about living in L.A. “But even before [the pandemic], it was changing. The vibe was different. And then COVID happened, and it pushed it over the edge. Whether it’s the homelessness or the taxes, not that I want to shit on California—it just feels like this chapter in my life is done now.”
