"Happy 20th Halloween, Jenna Rink."
It’s been 20 years since 13 Going on 30 first came out in theaters, and to celebrate the milestone occasion, the film’s main star Jennifer Garner is dressing up as her character Jenna Rink for Halloween.
On Wednesday, Garner revisited one of her most iconic outfits from the 2004 movie in a video shared to Instagram, captioned: “Happy 20th Halloween, Jenna Rink.” In the clip, the actress recreated the scene where Jenna gets ready for Poise magazine’s big party—with a few hilarious tweaks to reflect her age.
The video—which is aptly set to the tune of Whitney Houston's "I Wanna Dance With Somebody"—starts with Garner, dressed in a white robe, applying lip gloss and powder, as well as retinol cream and eyeliner with the assistance of glasses.
The camera then cut to her confusingly looking at a pair of shapewear, before changing into the exact rainbow-striped Versace minidress Jenna wore to her work party in the film. She accessorized with a small pair of gold hoops and the same butterfly necklace from the movie, but instead of heels, the Family Switch star wore pink sneakers with white knee-high socks.
In case it's been a while since you last saw the movie, Garner plays Rink, an unpopular middle school girl who makes a wish to be "30, flirty, and thriving" on her 13th birthday. She gets her wish and wakes up as a magazine editor in New York City, with her best friend being one of the mean girls from childhood, Lucy Wyman (Judy Greer). Living the life she supposedly wanted, Rink navigates adulthood with the naivete of a young teen.
