Bows are huge this year—and we’re not just talking about in terms of popularity. Ribbons of all kinds are actually bigger than ever before. Take, for example, the massive black bow attached to Chrissy Teigen’s plunging white blazer, or the white ribbons dangling from Shakira’s 2024 Met Gala after-party dress. Demi Moore, however, just gave them all a run for their money with her bow-forward gown in Cannes.
Ending the film festival on a fashion high note, the actress attended the event's closing ceremony on Saturday in a strapless black dress that perfectly embodied the coquette trend. The gown was a show-stopper, and not just because of its thigh-high slit, but also due to the overpowering presence of its colossal white satin bow. Affixed to the front of her dress at an angle, the bow partially covered Moore's right shoulder and drew the eye up to her gorgeous diamond drop earrings. She rounded out her accessories with a pair of strappy black heels from Celine and sparkling cocktail rings on each hand.
As for glam, she wore her signature pin-straight strands down with a center part, and maintained a soft pink makeup palette that consisted of flushed cheeks, shimmery lids, and a rose-tinged pout.

Moore has spent the past week in Cannes promoting her new horror film The Substance, which earned itself an 11-minute standing ovation during its first screening. The award-winning actress said that she’s “humbled and excited” by the movie’s reception, and revealed that she almost quit acting before starring in the film.
“There hasn’t been a project or a role that has come along that has been this dynamic for me to really dive into and sink my teeth into,” she told Entertainment Weekly. “I went through a period of even questioning whether this is what I should still be doing. In the last four years or so, I felt that it was a personal question that I wanted to explore and see. Was this where I should be putting my energy? When you plant seeds, you wait to see what grows.”
