While promoting her upcoming movie, the Dune 2 actress has nailed the art of method dressing, pairing her preppy court-ready ‘fits with retro-inspired beauty that take the looks to the next level. Unsurprisingly, Z’s latest outfit on the Challengers tour was a winning addition to the lineup, reinventing the classic polo and a ‘60s-era full mod skirt with an edgier, ab-baring reinvention.
The Euphoria star turned heads in a custom Jacquemus pink dress with a cutout that flaunted her toned midriff at a Challengers event in Los Angeles on Saturday, April 20. Zendaya’s abs were on full display, except for a thin ribbon that connected her cropped pastel pink polo top with her extremely low-rise skirt. The Disney alum styled her preppy top completely buttoned up in a nod to her movie’s tennis story line, but the cropped design with a ring embellishment kept the look fresh and modern. The A-line midi skirt was more retro, featuring a full design that barely brushed the top of her ankles and showed off her shoes – a pair of matching pointed pumps decorated with coquette ribbons.
Zendaya leaned into the mod aesthetic for her beauty look, choosing a pale pink French manicure and styling her golden waves into a voluminous Priscilla Presley-esque bouffant that she topped off with a baby pink ribbon. The actress kept her eyes and lips in the same rose pink hue, adding a pop of drama with thick black winged eyeliner and bold brows.
Challengers’ release date is on April 26, and critics have already begun sharing their praises of the film, which features Zendaya as a tennis pro who’s stuck in a love triangle with two other players (played by Mike Faist and Josh O’Connor. Sadly, that also means that the actress’s era of serving winning tennis-inspired looks is almost over, so we’ll be fully appreciating each ace ‘fit while we still can.
