Even when my skin is at its best, it’s never perfect. My insecurity about it fluctuates day to day. Thankfully, complexion products provide me with immense comfort and restored confidence. My go-to is a light-medium coverage foundation. But for the first time, I find myself reaching for a tint over a foundation time and time again thanks to Summer Fridays’s Sheer Skin Tint.
A big part of my job is testing beauty products, and as such, I am usually ahead of the curve and the one doling out recommendations to friends and colleagues. This one, however, I was turned on to by a coworker. She swore that regardless of all the other lightweight complexion products I sent her way, Summer Fridays’s remained the gold standard. I finally got around to trying it and she was right, it’s worth every penny.

I’ll begin with a TL;DR of everything I like about this Summer Fridays skin tint; it’s lightweight, it doesn’t get oily throughout the day (think self-setting), and it’s sheer while still neutralizing my ever-present redness and hyperpigmentation. It doesn’t completely erase my imperfections but that is part of the charm. In a word(s)—it’s what I wished my natural, bare-faced skin looked like.
Unlike many other skin tints, there is no SPF in this formula. I personally don’t have a problem with it because I apply and reapply sunscreen throughout the day. But, I can imagine it being a problem for some people.
The Summer Fridays Sheer Skin Tint comes in 12 shades and is formulated with good for your skin ingredients squalane, hyaluronic acid, and safflower oil. The first is skin-softening and -barrier improving. The second is plumping and collagen-producing. And the last has redness- and inflammation-reducing properties.
