She didn't wear mascara, lip liner, or any eyebrow makeup for her nuptials to Christian McCaffrey.

As former Miss Universe, Olivia Culpo typically goes full tilt when it comes to her glam. But for her wedding to San Francisco 49ers running back, Christian McCaffrey, the model opted to keep her makeup surprisingly simple—a decision that is proving to be divisive.

This week, TikTok creator Jessica Weslie Arena slammed Vogue‘s coverage of Culpo’s minimal wedding glam, which reportedly didn’t include mascara, lip liner or any eyebrow makeup. “For Vogue to even point these things out just gave me such weird vibes,” Arena said in a clip. “Because obviously Olivia Culpo did something in order to not wear mascara, in order to not wear a lip liner, in order to not wear a pencil on her eyebrows. Be so for real, Vogue. Stop being a pick-me.”

Culpo didn't take the comment lightly and wrote back in response: “It was an interview….. they asked me what my makeup was……………………….”

Meanwhile, one commenter came to Culpo's defense, pointing out that the model admitted to getting a lash lift earlier this year. "I love her lash lift it looks stunning on her ❤️" Arena replied back, before explaining, "I’m just saying be transparent on why you aren’t wearing mascara etc bc so many young girls will compare themselves."

It isn’t just Culpo’s glam that has been sparking debate online, her modest wedding gown has also divided the internet. For the ceremony, she chose a long-sleeved Dolce & Gabbana dress with a crewneck cut, a voluminous skirt, and buttons down the back. Of her choice, Culpo told Vogue: “I didn’t want it to exude sex in any way, shape or form.”

Not a fan of the look, stylist Kennedy Bingham described the dress as “nothing” and lacking personality. Culpo commented on Bingham’s post, writing: “Wow what an absolutely evil person you are, I hope no one ever tears you apart in this way because it’s extremely hurtful. I love this dress and it was everything I ever wanted and more.”

McCaffrey also came to his wife's defense. "What an evil thing to post online," the NFL star told Bingham. "I hope you can find joy and peace in the world, the way my beautiful wife does."
