When I don’t know what to wear, I put on what I call my “throw-on-and-go ‘fit.” It’s a mishmash of whatever’s laying out on my clothing chair (we all have one!), and whatever I can reach for first without much effort. Sometimes, it’s sweatpants and a graphic tee; other days, it’s my biker shorts and an oversized sweatshirt that I wore the night before. And while the main pieces differ, there’s one grounding element (ahem) that remains the same—and Chloë Sevigny wore it.
Sevigny, a relatable queen, was snapped out and about in New York City, possibly running errands and redecorating her home. I say this only because she was spotted carrying two oversized straw baskets that could be used for many things (Chloë, reveal your plans!). But, besides those “accessories,” it’s her low-key, ultra-relatable outfit I can’t stop thinking about. She wore long, baggy Bermuda shorts that I might consider swapping my sweats for. She paired said pants with a fitted tee, cozy black peacoat, and last but certainly not least, the ultimate throw-on-and-go shoes: tall, shearling trimmed Uggs.

Here’s the thing: Whenever I’m running out of the house anytime between the months of September to April, there’s only one shoe I slip into and go: Ugg boots. The shearling-lined suede options are comfy, a must, but they’re also easy to put on when you’re in a hurry (which I usually am!). Not to mention, you don’t have to dig through your sock draw, as you can wear them sans anything. And, of course, they look stylish, too, in a throwback, early aughts kind of way that make you so nostalgic for other times.
Sevigny’s outfit proves how easy going yet cool the Ugg boots can look with just about any bottoms. I particularly love the play in lengths with her outfit, by pairing those tall boots with cropped shorts that hit right at the knees. But, you can also wear said footwear with jeans, sweats, skirts, and all of the works. The key here being their ease of wear and the super-soft comfort, which is everything I need right now.
