If anyone’s still searching for the perfect summertime outfit, Katie Holmes threw her hat into the ring with a new coordinating set that hits all the right notes. Stepping out in New York City’s Upper West Side, the mother, actress, and director wore a cap-sleeved T-shirt and matching midi-length skirt in a tropical botanical print from Faithfull the Brand. The stretchy, comfortable, and casual set blended lush blues, greens, and purples with birds, trees, and fruit in what Faithfull called a Balinese print.
According to the brand’s website, the set is made of lightweight cotton jersey, a perfect way to beat the heat. Holmes finished her ‘fit with a pair of deep plum-colored ballet flats, a slouchy tote in a similar color, and a blue baseball cap from Dôen’s collaboration with Gap.
While she's become a street style superstar with her fashion picks (and cementing that reputation with an appearance at Paris Fashion Week), the Dawson's Creek alum will always be a filmmaker and actress first. Just last month, Holmes took home the International Award at the seventh-annual Filming Italy Sardegna Festival.
For the occasion, she wore a fluttery, ruffled off-white dress with a deep-V neckline and long sleeves. Though she’s been away from the small screen for a while now, she’ll guest star alongside Natasha Lyonne in an episode of Poker Face‘s sophomore season, joining names like Chloë Sevigny, Ellen Barkin, Tim Blake Nelson, Nick Nolte, Rhea Perlman, and Adrien Brody, who dropped in for the show’s first installment.
That's not the only reason Holmes has to celebrate. Earlier this summer, her daughter, Suri, graduated from LaGuardia High School. After taking some much-deserved time off, she's set to attend Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, this fall.
