The deeply hydrating lotion keeps skin moisturized post-shower.
The initial Glossier craze went right over my head. While I admit that the branding and the culturally consuming shade of pink it birthed are genius, the products did not speak to me. They seemed like makeup and skin care for people who didn’t need either; it did nothing for my non-pristine skin. But I don’t hold (beauty) grudges—I’ve kept an open mind and continued to test Glossier products over the years. Its Body Hero Daily Perfecting Lotion was the one to finally convince that the brand was more than just hype and clever marketing.
Glossier’s Body Hero line is not new, but it is to me. This lotion sat unused on a cluttered shelf until I tried it in my search for the best lightweight, instantly absorbing—yet deeply hydrating—body lotions. I’m happy to report that it delivered on all three of those requirements and then some.

The Body Hero Perfecting Lotion has a light texture that feels more like a serum than it does a lotion. It’s milky, thin, and a little goes a long way; I use a pump and a half to cover all four appendages. My legs are soft to the touch without a hint of residue within a minute. The moisture it leaves behind is long-lasting—I don’t have to reapply daily since my second-day skin feels as hydrated as when I first applied it. (That holds true even if I’ve taken a shower.)
It has a unique fragrance, which is so popular it’s been turned into a body wash, oil, and exfoliating soap. I was only able to identify it by looking at the ingredients: orange blossom neroli. It’s a tiny bit citrusy and floral. I don’t find it overpowering, chemically- or fake-smelling, but it may not be for you if you’re a fragrance-free person. Besides that, there’s also glycerin, avocado oil, and apple extract. The trio provides deep penetrating and long-lasting moisture, inflammation reduction, collagen production, and light exfoliation that reveals brighter skin.
Head to Glossier to shop its Body Hero Daily Perfecting Lotion—it’s so impressive it turned a skeptic into a believer. It also made me want to try more of the brand’s products, leading me to a lip liner with the moisture of a balm and a buildable foundation I’ve cycled into my routine.
