Both dresses are Versace.
Blake Lively is taking a cue from her own fashion playbook with her latest look on the It Ends With Us press tour. On Friday, the actress attended the Copenhagen premiere of her new movie, wearing a bejeweled gown that was just like the crystal Versace dress she first debuted at the 2022 Met Gala.
Lively's new dress, also by Versace, was fit for a queen with an elaborately beaded gold and purple corset with sheer panels that flowed into a floral-printed skirt in the same color scheme. Similarly, her copper-and-turquoise Met Gala gown had a bustier-style bodice with crystal embellishments and a dramatic sweeping train that was tied around her waist. Leaning into the regal vibes even further back then, she added matching ombre opera gloves and a crown atop her head.
This time around, Lively accessorized with stacks of sparkly blue, yellow, and purple bracelets on one wrist and a smattering of sapphire rings on the opposite hand. A pair of teardrop earrings were visible beneath her blonde waves, which were pinned back into a half-up, half-down hairstyle. She finished off her glam with a pink lip, glowing skin, and shimmery lids.
Earlier this month, Lively—whose current press tour looks have been all flower-themed as a nod to her florist character, Lily Bloom, in It Ends With Us—explained the importance of method dressing when it comes to promoting a new project. “I’m so excited method dressing is such a thing now because years ago when I did A Simple Favor, people were like, ‘Why are you dressing like your character? Why are you in suits?'” Lively told People.
"It's a small movie and the only thing people really pay attention to at these junket interviews is the photos of fashion so if I just wear men's suits, people are going to go, 'Why is she just wearing suits?' And then they're going to go, 'Oh, because she's in a movie and she's wearing men's suits,'" she continued. "It's a marketing hack to try to get people to pay attention to our movie. And it worked."
