Stripes, plaids, florals—you name it, she wore it.
Nothing says you’re on vacation more than a wardrobe full of bright colors and festive prints. And one person who takes this sentiment very seriously is Blake Lively, who packed her favorite patterned pieces for a recent trip to Italy and wore them—seemingly all at once.
On Sunday, the actress shared a slideshow of photos from her summer vacation abroad on the Italian island of Capri, and with each passing day, her outfits seemed to get bolder and bolder. First, Lively kicked off her trip vintage shopping in a gray, long-sleeved polo, before getting a bit more daring in a blue-and-gray striped cardigan layered over a navy top at the ice cream parlor.
However, once day four arrived, the Gossip Girl alum went all out, wearing a white-and-blue striped sweater with crystal embellishments underneath a yellow plaid blazer. The pattern-mixing didn't stop there, as she added a pair of baggy jeans that featured floral embroidery on the legs, leopard-print loafers, and a tweed Chanel handbag.
“My Capri fashion got real specific and fab,” Lively wrote alongside a snapshot of her outfit, before sharing another full-length shot in the next slide. "Get after those patterns girl," she added.
Later in her trip, Lively wore two handmade sweaters from the local textile shop Farella Capri layered on top of each other—including a chartreuse-colored cardigan in a windowpane pattern and a brown crewneck with a giant pink flower in the middle. A pair of medium-wash jeans, white Chanel shoes, and a floral crochet handbag completed her mismatched look.

To be totally honest, though, Lively’s everyday style isn’t that different from her vacation fashion. Take, for instance, her outfit at the Tribeca Festival Artists Dinner last month, where she wore a pair of plunging Chanel pajamas that combined a colorful floral pattern with the fashion brand’s iconic “CC” logo and embellished details. The matching set was whimsical, fun, and could have easily been worn while exploring the streets of a new city, or even on the plane.
