With the new unisex creation “San Pedro”, the Swedish perfume house 19-69 takes you on a fragrance journey through the rugged beauty and fascinating flora of Joshua Tree National Park.
The composition of “San Pedro” opens with a warm, earthy top note of cashmere wood, vetiver and the powdery freshness of violet, underscored by a hint of white musk. The heart of the fragrance picks up on the floral diversity of the desert: Green cactus notes merge with sparkling nuances of litsea cubeba and velvety peach peel, rounded off with refreshingly cool nuances of Italian bergamot, lemon and lemon mint.

The creation is inspired by the wild, untouched landscape of Joshua Tree National Park in southern California. Located on the border between the Mojave and Colorado deserts, the area, which covers over 3,000 square kilometers, is characterized by imposing rock formations and unique flora that has adapted to the extreme climatic conditions. Particularly characteristic are the Joshua trees and the various species of cacti that thrive in the barren desert landscape.
Over the years, I have always found the beauty of Joshua Tree National Park and Twentynine Palms to be overwhelming. The surreal features of the succulents, all sculpted by storms, high winds and occasional downpours. Bristlecacti, which in contrast, produce the most delicate and soft flowers. As many of them are psychoactive, the scent is also a testament to Laurel Canyon: home to countless parties and LA rock musicians during the experimental era of the late 1960s and 1970s.

Founded by Johan Bergelin in 2017, the Swedish brand 19-69 stands for creative compositions inspired by cultural, geographical and historical influences. The name “19-69” honors the year 1969 – an era of change, freedom and cultural awakening. Each fragrance of the house is presented in handcrafted glass bottles made in Italy and finished with the screen printing process.
The new fragrance is available in a bottle size of 100 ml.
