Lady Amelia and Lady Eliza put a sultry twist on the coquette trend.

Princess Diana’s enduring status as a modern-day style muse is partly due to her willingness to flout royal fashion rules, from unintentionally coining the term “revenge dress” with her iconic  off-the-shoulder LBD to the itty-bitty red bikini she secretly wore under a cheetah print one-piece and sarong during a ‘90s beach day. Nowadays, her lookalike nieces are following in their aunt’s sartorial footsteps and keeping her legacy going when it comes to taking fashion risks. Case in point: On Wednesday night, Lady Amelia Spencer and Lady Eliza Spencer broke royal protocol in sheer and cutout LBDS while stepping out at a star-studded event.

To celebrate the Nov. 28 opening of Aromaria’s first European storefront on Regent Street, the twin sisters made a glam appearance in coordinating black mini dresses the night before. Lady Amelia completely exposed her black silk bralette, thanks to the outfit’s sheer black lace turtleneck bodice, per photos from the event obtained by Express.co.uk.

Amelia’s black taffeta tulip skirt leaned into the coquette trend, thanks to a large black pussy bow-inspired tie at the waist. Showing off her legs with black sheer tights and black heels, the model wore her blonde hair in a sleek side-parted French chignon and subtly accentuated her features with a smoky eye.

Meanwhile, Lady Eliza left the sheer looks to her sister in favor of cutouts. While “very demure” at first glance, the sequined little black dress flashed glimpses of skin along her chest with strategically-placed gaps in the fabric. Each cutout was accompanied by a mini velvet bow, seeming to play off her twin sister’s coquette aesthetic. Meanwhile, the puffy short sleeves appeared to be a subtle sartorial nod to Princess Di’s much-loved ‘80s silhouette.

Wearing her blonde hair in a pulled back ballerina bun and a similar makeup look, Lady Eliza paired her LBD with sheer tights and black heels, a gold bracelet, and gold hoops.

While none of the Spencer sisters are working royals, Lady Amelia recently borrowed a style trick from another member of the royal family. As the twins joined their sister Kitty Spencer for the launch event for Bird in Hand wine, Amelia styled her blue Borgo de Nor skirt set with the pussy bow in the back – a sartorial nod to Kate Middleton, who’s also been known to wear her shirts backwards.
