Mother Monster officially won Christmas.
It’s about to be a very Gaga holiday once again, and we know all of her little monsters can’t wait to usher in some cheer. Lady Gaga had the biggest early Christmas present for her fans via a festive appearance on Apple TV+’s A Carpool Karaoke Christmas on December 15. In addition to belting cult classic carols, she debuted a hair transformation that bore a striking resemblance to one of the most iconic Christmas characters in history: Cindy Lou Who.
The “Just Dance” hitmaker pulled out all the stops this season with a new gravity-defying ‘do that might just make the Grinch himself smile. While zipping around town with host Zane Lowe, she displayed fresh strawberry blonde locks with full fringe bangs. She styled her joyous tresses in big bouncy curls with a voluminous beehive half-up, half-down hairdo, akin to that of the fantastical residents of Dr. Seuss’s Whoville.
The Haus Labs founder’s Seussical influences didn’t stop there; she took sartorial cues from Cindy, too. Gaga donned a black button-down shirt with dramatic, structured shoulders, a high collar, and orange-and-white stripes. She tucked the top into a gray pleated A-line miniskirt and paired it all with knee-high, fishnet socks and gray sky-high platform heels with a red sole, chunky wedge heels, and an ankle strap. She accessorized with just her massive diamond engagement ring.
The Joker: Folie à Deux star kept her glam playful as well, with glowy face makeup, a peachy lip, black winged eyeliner, a silver gem under each eye, and a glossy clear manicure.
Gaga’s wonderful animated look was likely a wig, as she rocked two other hair styles in the show’s Christmas special. In an Instagram post commemorating her appearance, the multi-hyphenate showed off a second look, this time leaning into her gothic side with a black Victorian-style gown that featured a jacquard print and giant puffy long sleeves. She paired the masterpiece with a wide black choker with a big, ornate gold-and-emerald charm. This time, she went full vampy beauty with thin dark eyebrows, a black smoky eye, and black hair styled down, straight, and middle-parted.
Christmas Gaga is truly the gift that keeps on giving. When she and Lowe switched from the car to the studio, the pop icon swapped her dress for a black-and-red striped sweater and her signature long, golden-blonde locks.
