From Kendall Jenner to Taylor Swift and her girl squad, celebrities have long worn American flag bikinis on the Fourth of July, but Katy Perry’s iteration just took the patriotic tradition to a whole other level.
On Thursday, Perry celebrated Independence Day while striking a Rosie the Rivater pose in a red, white, and blue bedazzled two-piece bathing suit on Instagram. Her sparkly bikini featured star-shaped top with red-and-white stripes on one side and a blue background with white stars on the other, as well as two rhinestone-encrusted straps that criss-crossed at the midriff and plunged down into her denim shorts below. The pop star wrapped a red polka-dot bandana around her dark brunette waves and finished off her all-American look with a pair of clear crystal earrings and a bold red lip.
Naturally, she captioned the snapshot, "BB UR A FIREWORK 🎆," before plugging her new single, adding: "and speaking of work, WOMAN’S WORLD IS GOING TO WORK IN ONE WEEK HAPPY 4TH 🇺🇸."
“Woman’s World” is Perry’s first single from her upcoming sixth album and she teased the song in the most innovative way during Paris Couture Week. Arriving at The Ritz Hotel in between fashion shows, the singer exited her limousine in a red one-shouldered gown with an XXL train that sampled the track’s lyrics.
“She’s a winner, champion/ Superhuman, number one/ She’s a sister, she’s mother,” the lyrics read on the back of Perry's dress. “Open your eyes, just look around and you’ll discover/ You know/ It’s a woman’s world and you’re lucky to be living in it.”
