The "Havana" singer is embracing this year's biggest hair trend.
Despite being known as the poster child for the anti-bob, Camila Cabello has finally embraced the trending haircut and gone for the big chop. Sporting a new blunt bob in a video posted by Nylon on Instagram, the singer-songwriter looked chicer than ever with her signature bangs and new, chin-grazing locks.
This isn’t the first time Cabello has undergone a beauty transformation, of course. In September, she showed up to perform at the iHeartRadio Music Festival with a chunky lob that hit just under her collarbone. Then, in Paris, she sat front row at Rabanne with a super short, side-part bob, made all the more chic with a wet-hair look. And then there were her hair extensions: the origin of the anti-bob moniker, which she debuted on Instagram on October 1.
The blunt bob has been a dominant force in hairstyle trend cycles this past year, with stars like Cate Blanchett, Zendaya, Jessica Biel, Lily Collins, and Hailey Bieber all embracing the cut. It makes sense: the look lends itself well to low-maintenance lifestyles, and offers a chic, elevated alternative to super long hair. At the risk of oversimplifying one of 2024’s biggest trends, we’ll say this: the bob just looks good on everyone.
As for Cabello, only time will tell how long she embraces her new short 'do. The "Havana" singer just released a new album, C,XOXO, in June, and spent the second half of the year on stage at festivals like Glastonbury and Rock in Rio Lisboa. If nothing else, her new bob lends itself perfectly to one of the few guarantees in the life of a celebrity: a very busy schedule.
