When Anne Hathaway stepped out wearing major bling and a white, floor-length shirt dress with nothing but a corset underneath, I immediately wanted the outfit details; it’s the sexiest take on the classic summer dress I’ve maybe ever seen. I wasn’t surprised to learn she was wearing jewels that could pay off my student loans (and then some), but I was shocked when I discovered her dress was from a classic mall brand.
The actress’ dress was a custom-made Gap piece—and no, you didn’t misread that. Hathaway not only proved that the brand is very back, but her custom Zac Posen for Gap dress was a shining example of what the brand does best: classic styles with a modern twist.

While you can’t grab Hathaway’s exact dress right now, this belted, mid-length style comes pretty close. Like the star’s dress, this one also cinches at the waist and features small cap sleeves and a button-front closure that gives you the option to create a sexy look. According to shoppers, it has the perfect fit—“comfortable…[but] not sloppy or too oversized”—and is “great” for summer thanks to the “flowy and cool” design.

Linen shorts should be on everyone’s summer shopping list: They’re dressier than denim shorts, but arguably more comfortable and offer the lightweight feel you need on hot days. I’m personally grabbing this pair that’s now $24. The 365 High-Rise Linen Shorts are available in eight colors, feature pleated details, and sit high on the waist for a fit shoppers call “super flattering.” They “feel chic and tailored enough to wear with a blazer, and comfy enough for T-shirts and sneakers,” raved one fan about the style, while another person wrote that they “fit and feel great.”

I’ll mindlessly spend $12 at a coffee shop, so why wouldn’t I grab this classic tank while it’s on sale for the same amount? (That’s how I justified adding it to my cart this morning, feel free to tell yourself the same). The top, which is made from a cotton-modal blend one customer described as “soft and stretchy,” has a slim fit, slightly cropped hem, and more than 500 five-star ratings. According to one shopper, everything about this tank top is perfect, from the length and arm holes that “don’t gape…but aren’t skin tight,” to the thick straps that cover your bra. And per someone else, the top is “classic…stylish, and feels like a step up from a baggy T-shirt,” which I took to mean that I’ll wear it everyday.
